… a most interesting read. The mix of fact with fiction appealed to me, it all seemed so real as far as the story line was concerned. I found some of the descriptions of cruelty awful but I know that this was so---poor people! It was interesting having the life in England in the 1800s as a preamble to the what led up to the transportation of George Smith-so very young - a remarkable gutsy bloke was he.
